The three IRIDIUM W high-temperature heat pumps with natural refrigerant R744 (CO2) are the sustainable and climate-neutral heating solution. The recent installation for a leading construction company in Austria, serves a 30.000 m2 offices and warehouse by supplying heat for both space heating and domestic hot water production.
The IRIDIUM W heat pumps use the water source fed by geothermal probes and serves utilities with different temperature levels according to the requirements of the various spaces.

Some require high temperature water (60°C), others use medium temperature water (45°C). Water temperature return to the heat pump is sized at 35°C. Where this is not possible due to the low use of the utilities, the installation has been equipped with a system to dissipate excess heat, transferring it to the geothermal probes and increasing its efficiency. This creates a system that guarantees the return of water to the heat pump at sufficiently low temperatures.

In fact, to maintain a high level of efficiency and benefit from the excellent performance of the units, the IRIDIUM W units can work with a maximum return temperature of 35°C.

The three heat pumps are managed by the Manager Iridium, a cascade controller that coordinates the partialisations according to the needs of the system; the secondary circuit pumps are also managed by the heat pumps.
